Blogmas -- Day 8

Hello Friends and welcome to Blogmas -- Day Eight!  I hope you have been enjoying Blogmas so far!

My Mister and I decided to run some errands on Saturday.  Nothing special, just grocery shopping.  What made it special was that he went with me.  Normally, I get all of that stuff done during the week when he is at work.  Usually, I don't really want him to go to the store with me.  That sounds terrible but I have a hard enough time by myself.  Between the my anxiety of being around that many people, noise and the frustration of having to spend so much money, it is all I can do to not lose my mind, as it is.  Generally when he goes with me, I forget half the stuff that is on my list, even though my list is in my hand, and it adds to the anxiety when he is talking to me about anything that is not grocery shopping!  Y'all!  The man never talks but we get in that store and he becomes a chatty cathy!  I enjoyed his company and it really doesn't take much for me to think something is special!  LoL

Oh my goodness!  I don't know why I got off on that tangent but I did.  Honestly, he is not the problem!  The problem is me and all those people in the store with me!  UGH!

Anyhow, we went.  I only had a short list and he had to get something for his toilet, so he went his way and I fairly ran to get the little that I needed!  There weren't too many folks in there today, probably because of the gray, cold, damp weather but I was able to do what I had to do without too much trouble.

After the store, we decided to get something to eat but first we stopped at a small Farmer's Market.  I rarely buy anything at these markets because I am usually looking for fresh veggies but today there were a few folks that had some nice things.  I still didn't buy much but I found a sweet kiddo that was helping his Mama sell homemade breads, pretzels and cookies.  It was an educational event for him because Mama was teaching him all about how to make, market and sell all the goods.  He was so cute and excited about the stuffed pretzels!  How could I not buy one?

This one is filled with blueberries and cream cheese!  I could hardly wait to heat it up and have it with my coffee on Sunday morning!

The next booth I checked out was some handmade crafts.  I never even stop at these booths because I make so many of my own crafts and never do anything with them so I don't need even more stuck in a tub!  I'm not against buying other peoples crafts and I certainly don't want to be one that says, "Oh, I could make that!".  Yes, I could but I won't and would certainly buy one except for not wanting more things laying around.  There I go again...off the thought train.  Anyhow, this booth was being manned by two teenage girls.  I do have a weakness for young folks making their own spending money or learning a good lesson, so I took a look at their stuff.  Lots of crochet, handmade bows and jewelry, some ornaments, and some beautiful tatting!  Y'all!  Who does tatting anymore?  Well, these two girls do!  Everything in their booth was made by them.  I ended up buying one of the ornaments.

Isn't he the cutest little sheep!?  He is made from a fuzzy fabric...like a sherpa fabric, maybe.  Stuffed a bit and his little legs are cinnamon sticks!  Not only is he cute but he smells good too.  I think he needs a name!  Any ideas?

We were almost to the end of the market but something caught my eye.  There was a young couple sitting at a table with pretty Christmas boxes and a few bags.  They were sitting out in the open with no protection from the wind, bundled up so that you could barely see their eyes, and shivering like crazy.  This was an open air farmers market and let me tell you the air was down right cold.  Every other vendor had a canopy with walls that gave a bit of protection but these two were right out in it.  I felt sorry for them but appreciated their dedication.  I figured they were probably trying to make a little spending money to buy their kids gifts so I went over.  They had homemade goodies.  Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies, Pumpkin Rolls, Pumpkin Bread and some other things.  I bought a box of the red velvet cookies.

I know it wasn't a big sale but I was almost out of cash and I hope it helped a little.  They acted like they were very thankful for the sale even though it wasn't much.

So, we finally went to eat.  I thought, since my Mister had gone to the store with me and had been good, he deserved a steak.  It was good and then we both needed a nap!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I appreciate you!  Please leave a comment so I know you were here!

Grace & Peace,
Pam
