Home Where the Heart Is
Welcome back to Toni Taddeo's Tuesday 4.
This week let's talk about home or the house in which you grew up.
1. What do you think of this picture.. the staircase.
This week let's talk about home or the house in which you grew up.
1. What do you think of this picture.. the staircase.
Do you like how it looks? I do love this especially the lighting.
Does it say "home" to you? No, not really. There isn't any clutter or dog hair!
Would you like something that looks like this? I don't think so. I think I would quickly grow to hate the florals and that runner is an accident waiting to happen because I am clumsy as all get out...besides, those stairs would kill me...dead!
2. Did you love growing up in your family home? We didn't have a "family home" per se. We moved...a lot! I do have a special place that I have always called home, though. It was my grandmother's place in a teeny tiny town in East Texas. It will always be home.
Could you live in a house like that today? I could live in my grandmother's old house but I can't think of one house that we ever lived in that I would want to live in.
3. What did your bedroom look like when you were a teen? Typical...Or at least my half of the bedroom. I always shared with my sister who is five years younger. I had posters of teen idols, a radio that played all the hits, and that's about all there was. Mostly, kept it simple because we were always moving.
4. What kind of vibes or atmosphere do you like to foster in your home today? Sophisticated, homey? These days I'm just happy if it appears to be clean! LoL. I don't know what my vibe is, honestly. It's somewhere between eclectic flea market to shabby(not chic) Granny clutter! Kidding. Maybe. Seriously though, I only strive to have the kind of vibe that makes my husband happy to be home and makes my kids and Grands want to come visit. Nothing else matters.

I think it would have been hard to move around when I was a kid. But you loved your grandmothers home. That is a very special memory. I love hearing everyones thoguhts. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI moved a lot as a kid no real roots. But I loved my grandmother and her home. It was cozy and cluttered and she was up for whatever you wanted. I miss her still

I enjoyed your answers. One thing I don't enjoy is cat and dog hair..as in , it's everywhere including my clothes. We always had indoor pets, but my mom kept the house pretty clean and free from a lot of hair. Lol. I know it doesn't bother some people. It could be my years of not having pets.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles...wishing you a lovely Happy Mother's Day.
