Hello, Lovelies!

And yet...it rains.  I am weather weary.  Doubt I am the only one around these parts.  We've had over two feet of rain since April 1st!  That is a good twelve inches more than our normal amount.  Good thing is the lakes are all full for the first time in years.  Of course, all the campgrounds are closed - mostly from government cut backs - so you really can't enjoy the lakes unless you have a boat and then that is dangerous with all the debris that is floating in the water.  I really shouldn't complain, should I?  After all, we still have a lot of hot weather coming in the next few months but honestly, I feel like I've been cheated out of a good portion of my Spring.  Before I know it, the days will begin to get shorter and then of course winter.  I don't know...I just feel kind of let down.  Even with that, I am very grateful for the rain and cooler than normal temperatures because usually by this time we are in the mid-90's working towards triple digits.  There are blessings even in the storms, aren't there?

Ms. Kay says hello and wants to know if you have treats in your apron pocket like Mama does.  This lady is our pest control.  She is also a spaz and has a good time no matter what is going on around her.  Lord, is she a spaz!  She is getting better but she has so much energy and strength.  It is a workout to take her for a walk, or so my husband says.  I always have treats in my pocket, when I take her, and she knows if she is crazy she won't get a treat.  She is a happy girl but she can certainly be a turd, as well.

As you can tell, I really don't have a lot to post about.  It's just been a very quiet time around here and that's ok.  I really don't know how to handle it when it is chaotic and "noisy".  I tend to "shelter in place" when life gets to be too much but I've not had to do that lately.  I hope you are also having a bit of a quiet season.

Grace & Peace,

Pam

  1. I do not envy your heat I think that is why I was born a New Englander. We have had more rain than we need but I don't believe as much as you have.
It is good she keeps the varmints' away.

  2. Hey Pam. She sure is a cute doggie! Our June has been so strange. First week we all complained about it being the coldest June we ever had. Now we've had the most humid hot June I can remember. If you don't get out to the garden early morning you might as well stay inside. The afternoons are hot and sticky! I know it could be worse, but this is like July and August. :)
