Hello Lovelies!
I hope everyone is staying cool in this unrelenting heat...I also hope if you aren't in a Southern state and have the pleasure of not dealing with triple digits, PLUS HUMIDITY, that you know how blessed you are! Ugh! I has been so hot these past weeks. I know it is summer but Y'ALL! And this is why I don't care for summer...!
There really hasn't been much going on around here. It's just a simple life we live. We have turned off all news, deactivated facebook, and just take it one day at a time... It's very nice not being bombarded with all the garbage that is going on in this world. You know, there really is no reason to get stressed out with it all. The powers that be are going to do what they want. Not a thing we can do about it so we might as well enjoy this life that God has so graciously blessed us with. The Bible says worrying will not add one day to our life and it certainly won't fix anything so why do it? Especially over things we have no control over. Of course, we will worry about some things...we are human, after all, aren't we? But I feel it is a sin to worry over how things are going. God knows! He has the master plan!
Ok, well that wasn't where this post was headed when I sat down here but I suppose God had other ideas. Fine with me, Lord! Use me!
So...a couple of weeks ago, the granddaughter and I had a fun day. We don't get those very often anymore so I cherish them. We went to some antique malls, had lunch and spent some much needed time in laughter and conversation. I love my fifteen year old granddaughter! She gets me!
| See!!!??? She gets me because she is just as Kooky as I am! |
| She always has fun and makes me laugh like nobody else! |
I have started working on Christmas presents. I know it is only August but I don't like waiting until the last minute to make and purchase the gifts. I want to sit back and enjoy the holidays not be stressed and running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything done. This year, all the BIG KIDS(adult kids) are getting gifts that are handmade. I hate spending money on gifts that mean so little and with the cost of everything, now, I just am not going to! Not gonna do it!

I love the picture of you and your granddaughter!! You both are adorable! Those sunglasses are exactly what you need. :) Wish I was smart enough to start on Christmas gifts now. You know, I really should make them all something. I always wait too late and then don't have the money. Story of my life. That bug! It took me a while to figure out which end was its head.
ReplyDeleteI have a 14 1/2 year old granddaughter who I love spending time with. But they get so busy time is short with them.
ReplyDeleteNo idea what the bug is.
I am with you with the presents we need nothing. and I love time give me a nice day together and I am happy.

My husband and I were discussing Christmas this morning while we were floating in the pool...and honestly, what you said, is exactly what I have been thinking too. There is a little more to it, but I will leave it at that. Wishing you a lovely Saturday my friend. smiles
