Somebody posted the album cover of "Tapestry" by Carole King.  That is one of my all time favorite albums.  Love all of her music but there is something special about that particular album.  I guess, it represents a time in my life when I was between the innocence of childhood and the reality of adulthood.  I don't know, but I get reminiscent, every time I listen to it.  I listen to it the way I did back then...on a record player.  Yes, I do have the old vinyl album.

The only way to go back in time, when listening to music, is by playing a vinyl record!  Something about the scratchy sound will whisk one back to a simpler time, don't you think?  Carole, isn't the only one I have the old albums, for.

I also have Simon & Garfunkel, John Denver, and a few others.  I could sit for hours and listen to them but, some how, I forget to do that.  I think, soon, I will take a small trip... to a time of peaceful ballads and innocence... if only in my memories.

  1. I understand what you are saying. The years between childhood and adulthood are very tender, music from that time makes me happy but melancholy. Wish I still had my old records, but alas..they're gone.

  2. I was just singing a couple of John Denver songs as I did the dishes today. Oh, memories...

  3. Hi Mrs. G :)

I love listening to my old records. There's nothing better than The Big Bands playing on my record player. It obviously doesn't take me back to that time, but it takes me back to my childhood, listening to my grandparents car radio, back when they still played "oldies".

    Have a great weekend!

  4. Oh I still listen to old records too. Simon and Garfunkle I love, and I could listen to John Denver non stop! I just don't like any of the new music, it gets on my nerves. :) Maybe I'm just old.
